Before the writers' rooms there was a group, and before the group there was a cassette Walkman. Chan-Piu recorded and released an album with his group, Minority, in 2003 — a working knowledge of how music is written, cut and put into the world that he has never entirely set down.
One of Minority still records. Chan-Piu built and maintains his website, which closes a loop three decades long: the same ear that learned hip hop from a cassette in 1980s Uganda now ships the platform the music arrives on.

Through SwiftMedia & Tech, Chan-Piu has spent over a decade translating development themes into human-centred narratives across East Africa.
Most notably as Creative Lead for the European Union Delegation to Kenya's Europe Day celebrations in 2021 and 2022, alongside ongoing visibility campaigns and documentary work on donor–community partnerships across the region.
It is a rarer combination than it should be: someone equally at home in a broadcast writers' room and in a donor visibility campaign, fluent in both narrative craft and development context.
